The Clarissa Fire Department was called to a grass fire last Thursday evening just west of town at the Al Patnode farm. The fire was quickly extinguished. Cause of the fire was unknown.

The Eagle Valley Rebels Softball Team ended up with some sore arms and a sprained ankle to a key player. The Rebels stumbled to a one win, two loss week to bring their season record to seven wins and five losses overall. On Monday, the Rebels lost 4-2 to St. John’s at the St. Cloud Stadium. On Tuesday, the Rebels fell at home to Osakis 7-6.

The Clarissa Board of Education held a special meeting last Monday evening, May 6, to review the materials from the past negotiation meetings that were held and to determine changes that had to be made in the negations between the teachers committee and the members of the board up to this point.

Twelve of the students in the 1974 graduating class of 37 members were named Honor Students this year, it was announced this week by Dahn Beaudoin, high school principal.
