The Rebels softball team won three conference games in two days to end the conference with a 9-1 record and the conference championship for the second year in a row. A double header with Swanville last Thursday and a Friday game at Browerville all ended with shut out victories for Eagle Valley. Defensively, the Rebels did not make an error in the three games.

Honored guests from Eagle Valley who attended the 25th annual Friends of Education Banquet, held at the Oaks Supper Club in Little Falls on Thursday, May 6, were Mikey Romstad, honored Outstanding Layperson in Education, and Leo Schmitz, Teacher of the Year. They were presented a plaque by Eileen Uhlenkamp. Nancy Johnson was not present to receive a plaque for the Outstanding Layperson in Education award.

Five girls were named as A-Squad varsity cheerleaders for the 1974-1975 school year last Wednesday morning at the Clarissa School. The five selected were Sharon DeBlieck and Kim Watts, seniors; and Judy Burns, Lori Anderson and Kare Woege, juniors.

Sue Sticha was crowned Clarissa’s 1974 Dairy Princess during the annual award ceremonies held at the Clarissa School last Friday evening. Sue was crowned by Carmen Carlson, last year’s dairy princess, who was also named as a runner-up at the Todd County Dairy Day.
