He has been in the state Senate longer than all but a few senators, but in a room full of orators, Sven Lindquist hasn’t gotten a word in yet. He is the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms, first elected to the post by the membership in 1986 at the age of 23. Since then he has quietly held his post by the Senate gate, making sure that the senators, aides and members of the news media are well-behaved and that lobbyists stay in the lobby. Lindquist, who has a degree in public administration, grew up in Clarissa.
