Dairy foods were the focus of the 1999 Todd County Dairy Foods Demonstration and the Dairy Foods Recipe contest held Saturday, June 26, at the Browerville Community Center. This event was co-sponsored by the Todd County American Dairy Association and the Todd County Extension Service. Andrew Paskewitz, A-1 4-H Club, Browerville, was selected champion demonstrator in Division I, and Haley Sprenger, Eager Eagles, Grey Eagle was selected as reserve champion demonstrator.

Clarissa’s newest business, Canine Cattle Co., is already looking to expand. Canine Cattle Co. opened in May and is located in the former AA Johnson tool building on the corner of County Road 11 and Highway 71. At the new plant they take bones from cows and process them into pet treats. Cecil Foote, the plant manager, said at this time there are more sales than there are available products.

July 11, 1974
Ray LaVoie, Todd County Commissioner of the second district, announced on Tuesday of this week that he will not file for reelection. LaVoie has held the position of commissioner for the past 20 years, as he became a member of the board in 1954. He has been elected for five, four-year terms and has been chairmen of the board for three of those terms.

A slight relief was felt from the humid heat early Wednesday morning when cloudy skies appeared with a slight breeze and the temperatures were in the low 70s. It was a most welcome relief from the humid heat that hit this area over two weeks ago with temperatures soaring to the near hundred mark in the first three days of this week.
