On Thursday, September 16, there was a mock tornado touchdown in Clarissa and Eagle Bend. There were 64 volunteer patients who were moulaged with many different injuries and then placed at various sites until the first responders and ambulance personnel could arrive on the scene to triage the patients for transport to the hospitals for treatment. Sites used to place “victims” were in Eagle Bend at Central Ag Services and in Clarissa at the Central Todd County Care Center, Clarissa Manor, Heritage Apartments, the Clarissa Park and the Clarissa Ballroom.

The Eagle Valley Rebels suffered their first conference loss in two years on Tuesday, September 14, at Royalton. The match went five games with the Rebels coming up short.

September 26, 1974
Donna Jensen and Gregg Thompson were crowned homecoming queen and king at a special coronation program held last Thursday evening at the high school gymnasium.

Susan Hlatky was the first place winner in the second annual sunflower contest held at the new park on Saturday, September 14. For first prize, Susan was awarded a bird feeder which was presented to her by Mrs. Glen Kotval, president of the Hoe and Hope Garden Club, which sponsored the contest.
