The Clarissa City Council held a special hearing to discuss the proposed budget for the water and waste water improvement project. The proposed budget total is $3,361,963 which is approximately $300,000 lower than applied for last year. One of the big concerns for the city is that the current water tower holds 55,000 gallons of water and the water tower and filter is 50 years old. The proposed tower will hold 200,000 gallons of water.
