October 13, 1999
The sunflower growing project was sponsored by the Hoe and Hope Garden Club. They supplied the sixth grade class with the sunflower seeds they planted last spring and came in to judge the winners of the biggest sunflower on Thursday, October 7. First place went to Ashley Engen and second place went to Katie Weishair. Pictured were Clay Sandmeyer, Ashley Engen, Candi Snyder, Josh Ehnes, Ashley Coburn and Katie Weishair.

The Eagle Valley football team led the Osakis Silverstreaks on the scoreboard until the last 40 seconds as Osakis scored the go ahead touchdown to come away with a 19-14 victory. The Rebels gave it their best effort and played with intensity and desire throughout the contest. Some mental mistakes and run overs gave Osakis a chance to come back with two fourth quarter touchdowns.

October 17, 1974
A large crowd attended the “Get Acquainted” open house sponsored by the Clarissa Farm Service last Thursday, October 10. The special event was held by the new owners, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Jasmer, and their crew, so that they could become better acquainted with persons throughout this area and the surrounding communities.

Richard Mittag of the Eagle Bend FFA Chapter has been nominated to receive the American Farmer Degree, the highest degree presented by the National FFA organization.
