Sherman Lee Anderson will be 92 on March 14, 2000. He is believed to be the oldest living life-long member of the Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church. He was baptized and confirmed in the Zion Lutheran Church which was then on the site of what is the Zion Lutheran Cemetery west of Clarissa. His father was instrumental in moving the church into Clarissa. It was then named Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.

Construction on the new feed bins at Central Ag Services in Clarissa is moving right along. The project, which began in early January, is about 70 percent done and it is anticipated that it will be operational by the end of March. The new bins will allow Central Ag to serve big and small farm operators and accommodate every type of operation from hogs to sheep. It will increase feed efficiency and expand product lines.

Another exciting evening for Clarissa residents was had at the magician’s show held at the Clarissa School gymnasium on Saturday evening, March 8.

The city of Clarissa was one of the few towns in Todd County that showed an increase in Mill rates for the year 1974, according to the Mill rate schedule recently prepared by the Todd County Auditor and County Treasurer.
