The Clarissa-Eagle Bend Daisies Girl Scout Troop toured the Independent News Herald on Saturday, March 18. Pictured are Shelby Peterson, Kelsy Thorpe, Samantha Schnettler and Katelyn Wendel.

A group of dairy producers in the area are being trained in advanced heat detection. The school was sponsored by the West Central Minnesota Dairy Diagnostics Program and was held at the Twin Eagle Dairy north of Clarissa. The class was taught by Dr. Tom Czeck from St. Cloud.

50 Years Ago

March 27, 1975

It should be remembered as “That was the week that was”....meaning Easter week of 1975! For it was a continuous havoc of blizzard conditions...with snow and blowing snow, sleet and blowing sleet, rain, high winds, and icy and drifted roads. It all climaxed with below zero temperatures.

Eleven players were named this week to the all-conference team of Prairie Conference. Chosen from Clarissa by the coaches of the conference was Steve Woge, senior forward of the Prairie Conference Champs, the Clarissa Bucs.
