The Eagle Valley Mock Trial Team began practice in the weeks before Christmas and is now looking forward to the first competitions of the season. Ten very eager and interested team members have been preparing to either defend or prosecute Sydney Taylor, a security guard at Liberty High School in the city of Edgewood. Taylor is charged with attempted murder after shooting a student in the leg. The team consists of Rhiannon Stuart, Jessica Olson, Amanda Klimek, Sherrie Lundgren, Jon Baso, Jason Martinson, Bonnie Beach, Mike Pontius, Kari Lundstrom and Isaac Bradlich.

The Eagle Valley School Board set up a special committee to review and evaluate the student-run Aqua Valley business. Instructor Ted Lubben explained the opportunity for learning for the students who work with the fish growing end of the business. Biology, math, chemistry and marketing are but a few of the skills his students can expand on in the aquaculture course offerings.

January 30, 1971
Willia Kulick, 62, a prominent Clarissa businessman, died suddenly at his home on Wednesday morning. Death was caused by a heart attack. Mr. Kulick was the owner and manager of the Clarissa Ballroom here for many years.

Kathy Hokanson was most pleasantly surprised on Saturday, January 2, while she was in the dining room at the Hotel Acadimos in Athens, Greece when she turned around to see Mike Lunemann CT3 standing there. The former schoolmates spent three hours together visiting.
