Charles Tangeman was installed as Clarissa’s new postmaster last Friday. He was sworn in by the Acting Manager of Postal Operations Gregg Barnes. LouAnn Duda, the acting interim postmaster, also received a letter of commendation from Barnes.

The Minnesota Deer Classic was held March 8-10 at Bloomington. The local winner was Carl Roth, son of Ronald and Shelia Roth. He received first place and a blue ribbon for the deer antlers he entered in the first buck contest. He also received a trophy. He also placed second in the Boone and Crockett record book with a score of 171 4/8. He received a third-place overall champion at the show.

Kenneth Hayes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Hayes and a junior at the Clarissa High School has been named as a delegate to attend Legion Boy’s State. Announcement of the honor was made by Ray Petersen, commander of the local American Legion Post 213.

Mrs. Floyd Lundstrom was elected as president of the Clarissa Parent Teachers Association for the coming year of 1971-1972 at their April meeting which was held Monday evening at the school.
