25 Years Ago

September 4, 1996

Maija Wiltermuth loves dancing. She has danced on the Eagle Valley danceline since seventh grade. She’s a junior at Eagle Valley. Maija has won numerous awards both at the Eagle Valley School and the Just For Kicks camp she attends in the summer. This New Year’s Day she will be in the All-Star Danceline performing during the half-time show of the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Florida.

Neil Schlicting pulled a 1986 Pontiac Grand Am out of Eagle Creek on Sunday evening. The car, driven by Jason Matthew Sadlemyer, 18, of Long Prairie, was southbound on Highway 71 when he hit a guard rail and went off the road into the creek. He was transported to the Long Prairie Hospital where he was treated and released.


50 Years Ago

September 2, 1971

All residents of Todd County may obtain answers to questions on operation and interruption of the Presidential Order of August 15 on prices, rents, wages and salaries from the Todd County Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Services office, according to Frank Pfeffer, chairman of the county ASC committee.

Todd County will be represented by 21 4-H livestock exhibitors at the Minnesota State Fair. This is the highest number of 4-H livestock exhibitors to ever represent the county at the State Fair.
