25 Years Ago

September 25, 1996

In a business transaction completed on September 3, Michael and Heidi Iten became the owners of the Iten-Heid Funeral Homes in Browerville and Clarissa. The business will be known as Iten Funeral Homes. Mike and Heidi Iten became the fourth generation of Itens to operate the business. Both are licensed funeral directors. Although Heidi is originally from Texas, they graduated from the same mortuary school.

Last Thursday night the Rebels volleyball team traveled to St. Cloud to play the Johnnies of St. John’s Prep School. In the conference match, the Rebels won 3-0. The Johnnies are a very inexperienced team with many new players this year. It was a struggle for them to just receive the ball.


50 Years Ago

September 23, 1971

Five queen and five king candidates for homecoming were voted on by the junior and senior high school students on Tuesday morning. Candidates chosen for queen were: Peggy Anderson, Bonnie Bergs, Collen Holmquist, Sandra Jenkins and Karen Sobotka. King candidates chosen were: Kenny Hayes, Joel Hoakanson, Ron Jansen, Mary Johanson and Jarl Pema.
