Haskin attends Boys State

Jeremy Haskin, a senior at the Verndale School, was selected by the American Legion to attend Boys State in June.

The annual Minnesota American Legion Boys State was held at St. John’s University from June 12-18.

Boys State gives young men the chance to learn about government at the local, county, and state levels by participating in mock councils.

The Wadena American Legion selects candidates from the area schools. This year’s seniors Dalton Moyer and Jeremy Haskin, 17, were chosen for the week-long event. Moyer was unable to attend.

When Haskin was told he was selected for the event, he didn’t give an immediate answer. . .
