The Bertha-Hewitt first-grade class received a very special gift from their paraprofessional, Jenn Hess. The gift is a children’s book she wrote featuring the children of Jared Hoemberg’s first-grade class titled “How to Behave in the First Grade.”
The fictional story is about a girl, Brooks, going to first grade for the first day. It’s about her struggles and how her teacher and classmates make it the best ever. The name Brooks is based on her daughter Brooklyn, who recently celebrated her 15th birthday. Brooklyn often visits the first graders . . .
