Hunter airlifted after 15-foot fall from deer stand


On December 7, at 10:41 a.m., the Wadena County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of a hunter

who had fallen from a deer stand in section 29 of Blueberry Township.

When deputies arrived on the scene, they found a 57-year-old Menahga man lying under a deer stand and learned he had fallen approximately 15 feet while muzzleloader hunting. The male was conscious and breathing but was not able to speak.

Menahga First Responders and the Fire Department arrived soon after and began to assess the patient. Astera Health EMS also arrived and began to provide care

until North Memorial Air Care arrived on the scene.

The male party was flown to Sanford Fargo to be treated for his injuries. His condition is unknown at this time.
