In Focus
Well, winter has finally arrived.
I’m not thrilled about it, but at least it had a very late start and we were able to enjoy a little milder December. I was happy that I could get the holiday decorations out of my yard this year.
The cold on the other hand sucks. I had to close the door to the outdoor kennel and the cats were not happy. Despite the ice growing around the door and the wall itself, they’d rather go outside in the freezing temps. But too bad, we are trying to keep the heat inside, despite their meows of disapproval. Even the outlet on the wall was iced up.
I’m still extremely thankful to have a car with astro start. I did not leave the house all weekend (for once) and just randomly started the car since it sits outside. Everything seemed to work just fine—despite my mom’s car that refused to start. Thank goodness for awesome neighbors and battery chargers.
It’s cold snaps like this when I can find all the drafts in the house. Most will be fixed this spring but man it’s chilling when I walk by an area and get blasted with cold air. I probably need to start looking into re-insulating the house.
Oh well, it’s winter in Minnesota...nothing I can do about it.
At least the rest of the Christmas decorations inside the house were finally put away, and organizing the basement will come later...it’s really cold down there.
My knees are also not happy with the weather, and neither is the new found carpal tunnel in both hands. Sigh.
At least many of you should be happy—getting your iced over lakes. I prefer to stay home in my warm bubble with my four-legged space heaters.
Happy winter!
