In Focus

I love ParaCon. The yearly paranormal convention held in October the past few years is usually one of the highlights of my year. It was always great to meet the paranormal celebrities and hang out with them.

Last year, the casino put it on hiatus as they looked at revamping the event. Then COVID hit. My mom and I hadn’t made it the previous year either. It happens.

We were informed by our paranormal friend Rick, the one who wrote a book and mentioned my mom bitting his butt at one of the conventions, that a new paranormal convention was being held in Duluth this summer. And he was attending as well as our group of friends we hang out with at these conventions. Rick informed us we had to attend. Well, we can’t say no!

While I am happy the convention is back, it kind of sucks that it will be held at the convention center and we are all spread out across different hotels, instead of all being in one place. Most of the fun at the conventions happens after the convention closes and everyone gathers at the bar for some after-hours fun and conversation. I don’t know how that will work in this situation, but we will have several places to choose from.

Some of my favorite memories come from the after parties. I have a photo of Steve Gonsalves from Ghost Hunters, Randy Hardy of Deep South Paranormal and Patrick Doyle from Ghost Mine showing off their sleeve tattoos. That night was so much fun!

The hotel room has been booked and tickets purchased. My wall of autographed photos is filling up, but I can’t wait to add more to my collection! And see Rick. He has already been warned I have no control over mom and her actions. He may be a bit nervous about that, but here’s hoping it goes well!
