Lady Pirates take down the Huskies, play hard against Braves

A balanced attack helped the Verndale Pirates pull off a 57-50 victory over the Pillager Huskies on January 31.

The game was tied 31-31 at the half. Katie Blaha, Reagen Ludovissie, and Taylor Johnson each scored in double-figures, while Avery Amerud came off the bench to score 9 points. Additionally, the Pirates were able to take care of the ball as they only had 9 turnovers.

The Huskies committed 22 turnovers. The Pirates did not convert on free throws near the end of the game but were able to grab offensive rebounds to take more time off the clock and hold the lead. . .
