by Coach Jeff Myers

In the fourth round of the Section 6A playoffs, the Browerville/Eagle Valley Softball Team squared off against the Hancock Owls in a battle of the last two undefeated playoff teams.

The Tigers attacked first in the bottom of the first inning as they scored three times on a couple of hits and walks.

In the third inning, singles by Tyra and Anna Myers plated another run and gave the orange and black a 4–0 lead. The Tigers scored two more times in the sixth inning highlighted by a pinch-hit RBI single by Alyah Abrahamson for the 6–0 win.

The Tigers’ pitching and defense were on point as they played error-free ball behind Marissa Callahan who pitched all seven innings and struck out 11 Owls. The Myers sisters led the team offensively with two hits each.

On Thursday, the Tigers hosted Benson in a game that would determine the Section 6A champions. Benson had to beat B/EV twice while the Tigers had to win just once.

The Tigers came out firing early as they scored four times after two outs highlighted by three doubles in the inning. They scored again in the second and fourth to take a 6–0 lead. . .
