Local Heroism Saves Young Life

On Thursday, September 7, at 6:17 p.m., the Wadena Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a house fire in the 1400 block of Homecrest Dr. SE, within the city limits of Wadena.

Initial dispatch information indicated that there possibly was a person trapped inside the residence. A sheriff’s deputy and firefighter that arrived on scene first were able to utilize a ladder located on the property to extend to a second story window to assist a juvenile down the ladder....
