The Bertha-Hewitt Business Professionals of America chapter returned home from Region 7 Competition with five region champions. Every student did an outstanding job as 13 students qualified for a trip to the state competition in March. Chris Chase and Chris Schultz led the Bears by qualifying in three events. Students crowned region champs were Suzy Kirscht, Tracy Graphenteen, Jill Samuelson, Marianan Handt, and the Financial Analyst Team.

The Bertha-Hewitt school received two quotes from companies to do the demolition of the old Bertha Hospital. Quotes were received from Metropolitan Dirtworks in St. Cloud for $18,900 and from Pischke Backhoe Services in Sauk Centre for $16,800. Pischke Backhoe’s quote was accepted.

Misses Charlotte and Norma Biegen will open a beauty shop in the Schultz Building next to Sundquist Barbershop on March 3rd to be known as Milady’s Beauty Salon. The operators invite inspection of their new shop.

The Bertha Hewitt Sportsman’s Club is selling tickets to a dance to be held Easter Monday at the Hewitt Community Hall. Music for the gala affair will be provided by Benn Patri’s Band. Several door prizes will be given.
