Bertha Lions Members Beth Selvey and Diane Schultz took Polaroid pictures of children with Santa during Santa Day in Bertha.

Santa visited a rural Bertha native, Reinhardt Haase, at the Central Todd County Care Center. Reinhardt received a [walking] stick from Santa.

Superintendent John Provinzino of the Hewitt Public Schools has informed the Bertha Herald that plans are currently underway for the opening of a youth center in Hewitt. A youth committee consisting of Arnold Rausch, Evelyn Iverson, Loren Harris and Leora Budahn has, in cooperation with the village council, acquired the use of the Rebekah Hall for one night each week. The village council will pay the rent.

A number of rural youth members from Todd County attended the second annual Rural Youth State Conference and Short Course at the University Farm in St. Paul. The theme of the conference was “Know Yourselves.” Oliver Blombeck, president of the Todd County group, and Robert Hertel of Bertha attended.
