The Miss Wadena Scholarship Program was held on Saturday, July 25. Nanette Ostlund, daughter of Doug and Joan Ostlund, won Miss Congeniality. Nanette’s Little Miss, Lindsey Kneisl, is the daughter of Brenda and Brad Kneisl. Pictured, the two danced to a fifties medley.

The final night of B-H Monday night baseball was held on June 20 with 20 athletes participating. In a fitting end to a fun and exciting season, the two teams tied 14-14 after eight innings. Taylor Lunemann and Phil Allen paced the visitors on the scoreboard with five hits a piece. Danny Brauch and John Hartung were close behind with four apiece.
50 Years Ago
July 29, 1948
John Kne of Chisholm, a recent graduate of St. Cloud Teachers College, has been named new coach of athletics at the Bertha High School, it was announced by Supt. Arnold Kujath. He starred with several strong Chisholm High School basketball and baseball teams as well as at St. Cloud. He succeeds Lee Henningsgaard who has moved to Aberdeen, South Dakota.

There will be a little of Bertha in Kentucky. Billy Johnson, Bob Franklin and Billy Truax left Tuesday for Fort Knox where they will join Donavon Johnston, Wayne Sagehorn and Duane Schwantz. All of them, except Billy Johnston, are with the engineers, and Billy is with the finance department.
