Past and present members of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Bartlett Township, Todd County, will gather to celebrate 100 years of God’s Grace at the church on August 8 and 9. A confirmation reunion will be held from 2:30 to 5 p.m. on Saturday with a hog roast supper to follow. Former Pastor Fred Kutter will conduct the 10 a.m. worship service on Sunday. Dinner will be served followed by a polka service at 2 p.m. with former pastors Mundah and Hanneman also speaking.

John Blashack, dairy farmer from rural Bertha, has filed as the Republican candidate to represent Minnesota House District 11B. The district includes Todd County and portions of Otter Tail, Wadena, Stearns and Douglas counties. John attended St. John’s University majoring in history. He is currently serving as chairman of the East Otter Tail Soil and Water Conservation District and vice chairman of WesMin Resource conservation and development control. John and his wife Audrey are the parents of eight children.

The Hewitt Hardware Store was broken into Tuesday night. A number of articles were taken among which were: an electric washing machine, electric toaster, electric iron, some fishing tackle and a gun.

Mrs. Jeannie Miller was happy to have received first prize on several articles she entered in the fancy work department at the Wadena County Fair. First prize was received for a bed spread, a crocheted table cloth and a dresser scarf, and second prize on three other articles.
