Bits ‘N Pieces is a craft store in Hewitt featuring crafts and homespun items made by more than 100 consignors. Its motto is “Worth the Drive.” Ardy McAllister opened Bits ‘N Pieces in 1991. McAllister remembers, “My sister, Arliss Lovelace, was doing this in addition to sewing. The business (Country Corners) grew to the point the building was too small.” McAllister left her job at the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Department and took over the craft portion of the store. She moved the business into the old Hallstrom’s Hardware Store and named it Bits ‘N Pieces.

The Bertha Hardware and Furniture Company is putting into effect a “point” plan which will afford its customers an opportunity to get double duty out of the money which they spend at the establishment this week. Under the plan each purchase entitles the buyer to grocery coupons which are redeemable at grocery stores.
