This past Saturday, the Bertha-Hewitt-Verndale (BHV) Raiders finished third in a tightly contested tournament. Perham led the first two rounds with BHV leading after the third round of wrestling. Wadena/Deer Creek won the championship (178.5) followed by Perham (162) and then BHV (159.5).

The Bertha-Hewitt girls basketball team defeated Browerville and lost to Battle Lake. Against Browerville, the Bears trailed at halftime by a score of 23-14. The Tigers outscored the Bears 14-2 in the second quarter. During the third quarter, Bertha-Hewitt began to narrow the margin and went ahead with 36 seconds remaining in the game. The final score was 42-41.

It is good to see Paul Aldrich out and about again after his near-fatal bout with an angry bull some time ago while loading the bull into a truck. He still has a cast but will shed that in the spring.
