The Bertha Municipal Liquor Store will be needing a new manager soon. Ruby Dvorak, who has been bartending there for 23 years this coming August, plans to retire on July 1, if the city can find and hire a new manager by then.

Special education students representing various communities and high schools in the Wadena Lodge area participated in a “Hoop Shoot” contest. Special age divisions, shooting distances, and scores were used for the contest to fit the skills of these students. All contestants received beautiful Olympic-style medals. The first-place winners in the various age divisions: Est. Leading Knight, Vince Henrich; Special Kids Hoop Shoot Chairman White Aus: E.R. Vince Blumboefter, Amy Roussland, Dustin Srobel, from Bertha who attends Verndale, David Peterson, Karen Nesges, and Patrick Neisess.

Ed Rosenberg, a well-known resident of this village, filed for the office of State Representative from the 51st legislative district, which includes all of Todd County.

Oscar Stoutenberg, a resident of this community for 40 years before moving to Clarissa two years ago, announced he has filed for the office of county commissioner from the second district, which includes territory in the northwest section of Todd County.
