Three communities have had to deal with break-ins again this week. The Corner Market in Bertha was burglarized earlier this year back in May and was again struck on Thursday, September 26. The break-in was discovered by the paperboy that morning. A window at the front of the store was broken to gain entrance. A large number of cigarettes (around 200 cartons), pizzas, frozen chicken dinners, candy, and a small amount of cash were taken. The White Elephant in Hewitt was burglarized sometime during the evening of September 28. At least two items were taken, totaling approximately $10. Sew ‘N Such in Eagle Bend also had a break-in discovered on Monday, September 30. A rear window which had been covered by a board was removed and the bar blocking the back door was removed to gain entry. No cash or items were taken.
