Lorentz Named WWU’s Inaugural Wrestling Coach
For the first time in its history, William Woods University (WWU) is offering men’s and women’s wrestling as intercollegiate sports. Now, the Owls have named their inaugural coach.
Interim Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Tracy Gastineau announced the hiring of Jacob Lorentz, a long-time, highly successful high school wrestling coach from the state of Minnesota, to lead WWU’s wrestling.
Lorentz’s start date will be November 30.
“When I first arrived on campus, it felt like home,” said Lorentz. “I was very impressed with the Woods’ commitment to ensuring the men’s and women’s wrestling program will have a bright future. . .
