The Tigers' #34 Randy Spindler goes for a jump shot during last Friday’s game against the Verndale Pirates. Despite a great effort by the Tigers the Pirates won the game 69-56. The Tiger boys will face Parkers Prairie during the consolation game on Saturday evening.

The Browerville Fire Department’s fundraising drive to pay for the city’s new “Jaws of Life” drew to a close last week with a very generous donation from the Browerville Lions. The Jaws of Life is used to free an accident victim who is caught or trapped in a vehicle or other machinery.
50 Years Ago
January 6, 1972
The Browerville Fire Department was called to the Land O’Lakes plant at 5:30 a.m. Christmas morning. Excessive oil was burning in the boilers. Minor damage resulted. The local fire department was called to assist the Long Prairie Fire Department at the fire at the Martin Korteum farm on Tuesday, December 28. The house was gutted by fire.

John Bednarz assumed his new responsibilities as Mayor of Browerville on January 3.
