25 Years Ago

January 9, 1997

The Browerville maintenance crew was out early and stayed out late to clear the city streets of 20 inches of snow that fell over the weekend. Many businesses closed early Saturday and Sunday and school was closed Monday so secondary roads could be cleared. A couple of snowbirds in front of Duane’s Repair didn’t fly fast enough to beat the storm.

Salary increases for both county commissioners and elected officials were approved at the December 31 Todd County Commissioners board meeting. Commissioners approved a 3.6 percent increase of $570 to their current annual salary of $15,884. Commissioner Scotty Greenwaldt voted against the increase.


50 Years Ago

January 13, 1972

The Browerville Fire Department was called to the Kiselewski Brothers farm Sunday morning. Upon arrival, the department found the walls and ceiling of the Kiselewski home on fire.

The Browerville Agricultural Department will start its annual General Farm Shop class on January 19. The course will involve all shop facilities, both woodwork and metal. There is no charge except for materials.
