25 Years Ago

July 17, 1997

The Browerville Police Department was gifted with a new defibrillator. Pictured with the defibrillator are Trevor Zastrow and Steve Beck of Lake Country State Bank; Severin Blenkush, city administrator; Police Chief Cory Heid; Jim Hage of Lake Country C.N.C.; and Bob Heid of the Lions Club.

Thirty-nine Todd County 4-Her’s attended 4-H Summer Camp in June at Northern Pines Methodist Assembly grounds near Park Rapids. While at camp the 4-Her’s had the opportunity to meet new friends and learn new skills. Workshops included canoeing, stamping, t-shirt decorating, nutrition, wildlife and basketry. Councilors from Todd County included: Alison Hoffner, Craig Kuehne, Evert Prather and DeeAnn Durheim.


75 Years Ago

July 17, 1947

The Crow Shoot, sponsored by the Browerville Community Sportsmen’s Club, ended July 1. According to the information given by Al Poplinski, the winning team was captained by Poplinksi. High prize was won by Jerry Iten with 3040 points and the second high was Frank Maschler with 2405 points.

Ten-day special at Kotula’s Store: boys twill cloth overalls $1.35, ladies rayon gloves 69 cents, kitchen curtains $1.35, men’s dress shirts $1.65 and chenille bedspreads $8.45.
