November 20, 1997

Congratulations to the following volleyball players who were selected to the Prairie All-Conference and Honorable Mention: Misty Schutter-honorable mention; All Conference-Robin Beck, Leah Michael, Stacy Gonsior and Shirin Salber. Leah Michael was also selected as the Most Valuable Offensive Player.

Gloria Weisel has been hired for the newly created full-time position of Geographical Information System (GIS) Coordinator for Todd County. Planning and Zoning Administrator Ron Peterson said that Weisel is currently employed with GIS in Douglas County under a grant program that will lose its funding. She will set up an E911 base map and then add layers to that map.


75 Years Ago

November 20, 1947

The voters of the village of Browerville will go to the polls on Tuesday, December 2, to elect the following village officers: president of the village council, mayor, two years; one councilman, three years; two justice of the peace, one year, one-two year; two constables, one-one year and one-two year. The time for filing for the above offices will close at 6 p.m. on November 24.

In their opening game of the season, the Browerville Independent basketball team will meet a team from Osakis on the floor at Paderewski Hall on Wednesday, November 19 at 8 p.m. The boys promise plenty of excitement and a lot of hard play—assuring local fans that they will be very hard to beat and worthy of local support.
