On Monday, May 4, Christ the King School dedicated their new play (ground) system which was made possible through the Joan Simpson Memorial Fund. Many of Ms. Simpson’s family were present for the joyous occasion. Ms. Simpson’s mother, Mary Gallus, cut the ribbon and took the first ride down the slide after it was blessed by Father Thielman. Ms. Simpson was the kindergarten teacher at Christ the King School when she was killed last June 27 in a single-car accident. Her family requested memorials to the school to be used toward improving the playground equipment. Mrs. Krog was instrumental in contacting businesses for donations. She was able to raise over $13,000 for the new system.

We are looking forward to a great year,” said Bud. Lois said they have added more merchandise and a new line of giftware. Bud’s is open six days a week from 9-5 and is located next to Petro Plus on Main Street.
