Jim Hage has been quietly working in his garage in Browerville for the past two years on a home-built (experimental) airplane. Jim started from a kit that was delivered on May 15, 1996. Jim is an experienced pilot and knew what he wanted. He had flown an example of the plane before he bought his own kit and was ready to dedicate 3000 hours to it to assemble on his own. The plane can carry two people, reach in excess of 300 mph and is powered by a 180-horsepower fuel-injected engine. Jim had his final FAA inspection and took off from the Long Prairie Airport on May 15, exactly two years from the time he started building the plane.
