Rabies—the very name brings negative connotations associated with it such as the plague or Aids. All these diseases are known to be fatal so it is no joking matter when we have a 40-60 percent increase in reported local cases. According to the Todd County Veterinary Clinic, skunks have been the major problem over the past several years. This year so far 10 samples have been sent to the Veterinary Diagnostic Lab which prepares the test and forwards the results to the Minnesota Department of Health. Five of those tests were returned as positive.

The local OTW’ers traveled to Grey Eagle last Sunday afternoon and engaged the Eagles in the last scheduled game for this season. The locals came home with another win, having taken Sunday’s contest by 5 to 3. The locals lineup included Frank, Olin, Zins, V. Mace, A. Mace, W. Mace, Koski, Nalezny, T. Iten and F. Mace. Archie hurled a very good game for the locals, striking out a total of 10 and allowing only five hits.
