Pictured is Rose Zigan sitting in the center of a group of friends who came to wish her well on her retirement from the Browerville Liquor Store. Rose said she is looking forward to having more time to spend with her grandkids but may work once in a while to see her old customers. Rose’s co-workers hosted her retirement party on Wednesday, July 29, at the liquor store.

Nearly 1500 bike riders raising money for Multiple Sclerosis rode through town on their way from Wadena to Little Falls last week. Many stopped at Christ the King for refreshments and rested before heading out again. Volunteers served sandwiches and beverages to the thirsty bikers who will end their journey in Pine City.

The Browerville Community Sportsmen’s Club is sponsoring a free movie to be shown at the Paderowski Hall on Tuesday, September 21. Everyone in this village and surrounding territory are cordially invited to attend.

On Friday, July 23, Rudolph A. Spiegelberg had a very pleasant surprise. Kenneth J. Keim and Willard P. Readel of St. Paul paid him a visit. They are co-workers of Mr. Spiegelberg at Minnesota Mining and Mfg. Co. of St. Paul. They treated Mr. Spiegelberg to a dinner at the St. Charles Hotel at Staples and presented him with a 21 jewel Hamilton gold watch and gold lapel pin as a reward from the company for 25 years of service.
