From September 24-27, the Three Star Construction softball team traveled to Shreveport, Louisiana to compete in the ASA Class B National Tournament. The tournament consisted of 79 teams from across the United States. Three Star was one of five Minnesota teams. In Three Star’s first game they faced Southern Spring of Tennessee and were defeated 15-12. In the loser’s bracket, the Stars played Clary’s Home Plate of Wisconsin. Again, they lost by three runs 11-8.

The Tigers improved their score to 6-1 last Wednesday night with a 52-7 victory over the Royalton Royals. The Tigers took charge early in the game, scoring on all but one of their possessions in the first half, to take a commanding 30-0 lead into half-time.

October 21, 1948
A meeting was held at the Spychalla home on October 14. The meeting was opened by reciting the club pledge. The officers for the coming year are: President Betty Lou Sobota, Vice President Valerian Spychalla, Treasurer and Secretary Doris Drayna, and Reporter Ardella Verhey. The next meeting will be at Frank Sobota’s. A lunch was served by Mrs. Spychalla.

The Browerville Community Sportsmen’s Club seined their pike fingerlings out of the rearing pond and have planted them in local lakes. A total of 50,000 fingerlings were planted.
