News from Browerville's Past

Thank goodness for halftime in high school football. It was the tale of two halves of football for the Tigers, in one half, we gave up 77 rushing yards and 100 receiving yards, a 97 yard kick off return and three touchdowns. In the second half, the Tigers yielded only 12 rushing yards and three receptions for 17 yards. Bertha-Hewitt came out with a little more fire than we did. We did everything we could to just stay close with the Bears. The Tigers had a couple of big plays from Reid Michael with an 80 yard run and a 35 yard catch for touchdowns. The Tigers move on to the quarter finals against the Osakis Silverstreaks.

An increase in association rates paid by landowners to the Sylvan Shores Property Owners Association received the endorsement of the Todd County Commissioners. Sylvan Shores Manager Betty Marotzke told commissioners at their November 3 meeting that the property owners association needs to meet rising general expenses and maintenance costs. The development maintains a clubhouse, picnic area, campground, two seasonally heated swimming pools and basketball and tennis courts.

St. Peter’s Church will be host to the general public on Wednesday, November 17, on the occasion of its annual “Feather Party.” An assortment of chickens, geese, ducks and turkeys will be offered as prizes for bingo. The evening session starts at 8 p.m. and lasts until midnight.

Todd County is already organized and is having the mayors and township chairmen heading up the campaign in their local respective communities. Our goal is $6000 so we can buy a carload of dried milk processed at Browerville. The money stays in the county—the milk goes to help alleviate suffering, starving people in Europe and Asia.
