25 Years Ago

November 19, 1998

The Browerville Tigers Football team will advance to the State Semi Finals next Friday morning at 10:30 a.m. at the Metrodome, after an exciting 12-6 victory over the Osakis Silverstreaks. The Tigers took the lead in the second period.

The Browerville City Council cleared the way for the Todd County Developmental Achievement Center (DAC) to purchase the former Leisen Drug Store building on Main Street in Browerville. The DAC’s original loan from the county, taken in 1978 and paid regularly when due, now comes with a balloon payment of about $75,000. They also have other loans for the Staples and Sauk Centre Thread Sheds.


75 Years Ago

November 19, 1948

William T. Lewis Post No. 12, Long Prairie, will be host to the Todd Wadena American Legion Council at its next regular meeting at the armory in Long Prairie on November 17 at 8 p.m. This is a joint meeting of the legion and auxiliary. Some rare entertainment is in store for you.

St. Peter’s Church will be host to the general public on Wednesday, November 17, on the occasion of its annual “Feather Party.” An assortment of chickens, geese, ducks and turkeys will be offered as prizes for bingo.
