25 Years Ago

December 10, 1998

Stephanie Parteka, a member of the Browerville volleyball team, has been recognized by the Minnesota State High School Volleyball Coaches Association as a member of the 1998 All-State Academic Volleyball Team. To be part of this team, Stephanie’s grade point average had to be above 3.80, not just for this year but her entire high school career.

The Tigers wrestling team competed in the Brooten-Belgrade-Elrosa tournament on Friday, December 4. The Tigers had a good showing with three individual champions and a fourth place finish. Minnewaska Area won the tournament with 211 points, followed by BBE, Menahga-Sebeka, Browerville, New London-Spicer and Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton. The three Tigers champions were Eric Anderson at 103 pounds, Luke Katterhagen at 171, and Gram Bentz at heavyweight.


75 Years Ago

December 9, 1948

The store windows on main street are taking on a holiday look with the decorations being put up, while our main street itself has been very joyfully decorated. A new system of street decorations has been installed.

The immunization program will be completed during the first week in December, beginning on December 6. The children and other persons who received the diptheria-tetanus shot for the first time in November should receive their second inoculation at this time. The doctors in the county will be prepared to administer these inoculations at the following location: Browerville, December 10, 1 p.m., the doctor’s office.
