Farmers have known for years that selling their products directly to the people who eat them was the way to get the best price possible. Just over a year ago, the 25 farm families who make up the Whole Farm Co-operative decided to act on that knowledge. The the new co-op’s products are the centerpieces of Todd and Wadena county agriculture: beef, pork and cheese.

By 7 a.m. on Sunday morning, the Browerville Lions were busy getting ready to feed a crowd at their annual Super Breakfast. The event, held each year on Super Bowl Sunday, is held at the community center.

February 3, 1949
Three Browerville girls, Evelyn Pachan, Mary Jane Gorghuber and Jacqueline John, are being sent to the county seat by the Browerville Commercial Club to enter a contest with about 36 contestants. The girls will compete for the title of queen and a trip to St. Paul to represent this area for the winter carnival queen contest.

The Browerville Independent basketball team squeezed out a 41 to 40 victory over a strong and flashy Upsala Five. Reports from the players all agreed that Upsala was the cleverest ball handlers they have faced all season. Ed Zins led the Browerville quint to their narrow margined victory by taking scoring honors.
