Somewhere in the neighborhood of 40 years ago, a Browerville High School student took an aptitude test which indicated that he should be either an ag instructor or a production manager. His response? “No way.” Little did he know that not only would he become an ag instructor, he would end up teaching 26 years in the same neighborhood where he grew up. Harlen Hokanson says that at the time he was choosing a career, he didn’t realize or appreciate the value of his rural background.

About 55 people were present at the Todd County Dairy Cooperative Employees Party held at Horseshoe Lake on May 25. A buffet dinner was served at 7:30 p.m. After dinner everyone enjoyed travel pictures shown by Mr. Hellmund of North Star Dairy. Pictures were taken in Venezuela, Chile, Brazil and Norway. The balance of the evening was spent in a social way.

Last Sunday, the Bertha OTW team invaded the local ball diamond only to be sent back home on the short end of a 4-3 score. This was Browerville’s second straight win in regular league games. The highlight of the game was Bob Jonkowski’s 400 ft. home run in the fourth inning. Our congratulations to Ed Zins for his fine performance at the stick. Ed had three hits in four trips.
