Marian Spieker, Sylvia Jordahl, Esther Super and Ardell Solem were having a good time at Zion Lutheran Church in Browerville Monday afternoon during their annual pillow cleaning fundraiser. Fluff-N-Puff comes to town each year where they clean feathers and put new ticking in pillows, feather beds and comforters. Members of WELCA were on hand to assist.

Shooshing is a relatively new event for Browerville Days, but is proving to be a popular event that involves a “coordinated” group. Anyone can participate—just get four people together. This year coordinators are hosting several age group competitions: 10 and under, 11-15, 16-39, 40 and over. Class reunion members will compete against class reunion members. Sign-up sheets will be located around town. It’s free and fun. See you at the skating rink at 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

Last Sunday, the Browerville OTW team defeated the Eagle Benders 12-1. Eagle Bend scored their one run in the last half of the ninth on two overthrows. Our congratulations to Jackie Frank for his fine performance on the mound and also Larry Ostrowski, who has done a fine job on third base. This was Larry’s first appearance this year.

The Browerville Sportsmens Club will meet at the city hall next Tuesday evening at 8 p.m. Austin Sarff of Walker, manager of the Walker Museum, will be here to show movies. Mr. Sarff is a former Browerville resident and is known to all local old-timers, who are welcome to attend whether members or not. A nice lunch will be served.
