For folks that may not know about the happenings going on “down town” Browerville: the Todd County DAC bought the Leisen Pharmacy building about January of this year. There has been a lot of activity going on in the building. Much of the activity consisted of revamping, remodeling, painting and many other things to get the building set up so they can develop a seniors program for the developmentally disabled seniors. Tessa Johnston is painting a wall mural at the new DAC.

The stage, just west of the Lee State Bank in this village, was the scene of a very thrilling affair on Sunday evening, June 19, at 9:30 p.m. which was the choosing and coronation of the dairy queen and her two attendants. Each one of the 20 contestants was described in detail over the air by Esther Marie of the regional farm station KWAD. Jacqueline John was winner of third place, Claretta Host received second and the queen was Bernadette Opelia.

On Monday evening, an organizational meeting and practice was held by the young women of Browerville. A three team league has been set up with play scheduled for every Monday evening at 6:30 p.m. First round games will start next Monday, June 27. There are still plenty of openings so anyone interested that is not already on a team can join by seeing one of the managers, Jackie John, Mary Ann Kotula or Audrey Zins.
