Zion Lutheran Church is pleased to hold Rally Day ‘99 on Sunday, September 12. Rally Day is the “kick-off” Sunday to celebrate the beginning of our fall/winter schedule of Sunday School and worship services. At 8:45 a.m., Zion Lutheran Church will welcome the children back to another season of Sunday School. Games, songs and special treats will add to the festive atmosphere.

The team ‘Ma’s Boys’, was on the technological edge with this year’s can carrier. The latest is an annual series that is the first insulated version and it could lead the way for future generations. Pictured: Ma ‘everyone knows’, sponsor Rich Miller, and Curtis Miller, manager.

For the second straight day of the current Region 8B amateur baseball tournament in Brainerd, the losing team has run into a 17-strikeout four-hitter. The victor Wednesday night of last week being Browerville over Gregory 23-2.

Mayor Joseph Poplinski this week received an invitation to take part in the first annual Harvest Festival at Clarissa. The festival, which will include the dedication of a quarter-million dollars worth of civic improvements in that village, will take place Saturday and Sunday, September 13-17. An address by Governor Youngdahl will highlight the Sunday afternoon while the Saturday afternoon address will be given by Col. Ernie Miller of Brainerd.
