A later than normal date has been set for the Todd County tax forfeit land sale. At their September 13 board meeting, county commissioners approved a sale date of October 26. This will allow the county to process recent sales at the Sylvan Shores development. County Auditor/Treasurer Kathryn Gresser told commissioners that 205 lots were sold the previous week. Some individuals from Portland, Oregon are buying lots with the intent to build homes. Many of the lots are bought by or for Russian immigrants who hope to begin working here as craftsmen.

State Representative Dixon and State Senator Anderson were visitors in this area last Friday afternoon. Members of the Browerville Community Sportsmen’s Club took them to view Thunder Lake and are now assured of having the water level of that lake raised about four feet. This will insure better fishing and prevent the fish from smothering out.
