The annual compliance check by the Todd County Sheriff’s Department in August found 60 percent of the 33 retailers licensed by the county to sell tobacco to be in compliance. Forty percent were found to be non-compliant by selling tobacco to minors.

DNR Conservation Officer Dave Rodahl discussed water safety with students from Browerville Public School at the 1999 Envirofest held Thursday, September 23 at the Dale and Marie Katterhagen farm located about eight miles east of Browerville. This year’s event was blessed with excellent fall weather for the 14 groups attending from 11 local school districts.

A roadside count of the pheasant population in 63 counties of the pheasant range has just been completed which gives a count of 250 birds per hundred miles and forecasts a hunting season almost equal to 1945 when 259 birds were counted and 1942 when 273 birds were seen.
