The Todd County Transfer Station will begin another phase of construction this fall. County commissioners approved a $36,940 quote by Weiner Merten for a 30 x 52 foot building addition. The addition includes a conference/training room, two offices, a lunchroom and two bathrooms with showers.

Proceeds from the statewide Knights of Columbus Tootsie Roll Drive were donated to the Todd County DAC and Browerville High School Special Olympics. The DAC received $178.20 for general improvements and $267.30 was donated to Special Olympics for the state bowling tournament. Pictured were John Johnston, Joe Buhl and Kim Porwell.

The Browerville Tigers copped win number 12 on Thursday night in Long Prairie, defeating a fighting Verndale club 33-15. It was anybody’s ball game until the fourth quarter when the orange and black managed to shove over the game clinching touchdowns.

The American Legion and Auxiliary and the V.F.W. and their wives and lady friends met at a joint meeting at the city hall last Wednesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Lindquist of Clarissa, a former Legion Vice Commander of the sixth district, were guests. After the business meeting cards were enjoyed with Mrs. John Hudalla winning the ladies high card prize, and George Giese, the men’s high. The Legion Auxiliary served a delicious lunch at the conclusion of a delightful evening.
